Welcome to Your Community Arts Center!
Main Street Arts is a non-profit arts center dedicated to serving the creative needs of our greater community. We seek to encourage creative expression through a wide range of artistic experiences. The center is located in the heart of the village of Saxtons River, Vermont and is celebrating 25 years in 2013.
Capital Campaign Updates April 2014
Construction is Getting Ready to Begin! We are very excited to announce that Main Street Arts will be working with Wright Construction of Mount Holly to complete the renovations/additions to our building. MSA has been busy moving, sorting and storing our 25 years of art supplies, theater props and costumes, and history in order to get our building ready for Wright to begin work. We anticipate that work on the building will begin in April 2014.
As construction begins, MSA will soon begin work on the remediation of the Brownfield located at the site of 33 Main Street. This remediation is financed in part through a generous grant from the Windham Regional Commission’s Brownsfields Cleanup Revolving Grant Fund and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. KAS Environmental will be working with MSA to oversee the construction process and monitor that the Corrective Action Plan established for our site is followed.

MAIN STREET ARTS RECEIVES $30,000 GRANT FROM THE VERMONT ARTS COUNCIL
MSA will use the Cultural Facilities Grant to install a sprinkler system in our newly renovated and expanded building.
Representing Main Street Arts, Peter Stolley and Julie Moir Messervy, joined by State Representatives Carolyn Partridge and Matthew Treiber, accepted the grant award at the Cultural Facilities Grant Awards Ceremony, held at the State House on February 21.
The Cultural Facilities grant program is administered by the Vermont Arts Council in conjunction with the Vermont Historical Society and the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation. These grants are intended to help Vermont nonprofit organizations and municipalities enhance, create, or expand the capacity of an existing building to provide cultural activities for the public.
Our Capital Campaign Needs You!
Moving Forward, Moving Up is MSA’s exciting and bold capital campaign to expand our original building, acquire adjoining property, and add an elevator and accessible bathroom. We are committed to meeting the creative needs of all community members and helping to revitalize Main Street in Saxtons River. Our financial goal is comprehensive: $875,000. We have already raised 75% this goal, but we need your continued support to reach 100% and keep us operating during our renovations.
Gift Acknowledgement and Naming Opportunities: We are extremely grateful for the support of so many of our friends and neighbors. In recognition of your generosity, we are creating a special donor space that will proudly list all donors to the capital campaign. In the upcoming months we will ask for your suggestions about the design of the space via a competition for the most creative way to acknowledge donors. The donor space will be unveiled at our “grand opening” next fall. More details to follow. Please also consider one of our many naming opportunities to support the campaign.
